The Story Behind The Collection
Victorian Antiques - A Lifetime of Passion & Discovery

For more than thirty years, Fred and Pat Boedewig shared a passion for fine antiques that grew into a respected family business known as Victorian Antiques. Married for 39 years, they were not only devoted partners in life but also enthusiastic partners in the pursuit of remarkable antiques and collectibles.

Known among fellow dealers and collectors for their discerning eyes and appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship, Fred and Pat traveled throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey in search of unique treasures. Their adventures included early Tuesday mornings at Rice's Market, antique shopping in Lahaska, countless auctions, and buying excursions throughout the region. Their discoveries eventually found their way to collectors through well-known antique destinations, from Lambertville, New Jersey, to the Black Angus in Lancaster County.

For Fred, establishing a presence in Adamstown, Pennsylvania, the celebrated Antiques Capital of the World, was a dream fulfilled. During the year preceding his passing in 1999, he faithfully made the approximately 90-minute journey each weekend, demonstrating the dedication and enthusiasm that defined his years in the antiques business.

Fred and Pat believed that a truly special antique was distinguished not simply by age, but by its quality, artistry, history, and craftsmanship. Their home became a reflection of that philosophy, filled with important bronzes, fine porcelain, period furniture, clocks, Chinese antiques, decorative arts, and unusual discoveries carefully acquired over decades.

Stenella Auctions is privileged to present these cherished pieces, many retained in the family's personal collection for years, to a new generation of collectors and admirers.

This auction represents more than the dispersal of an estate. It celebrates the lives of two passionate collectors who recognized the beauty of the past and devoted themselves to preserving and sharing it.

Fred and Pat did not simply collect antiques. They collected pieces of history, recognized their beauty, preserved their stories, and shared them with others.

Now, their extraordinary collection begins its next chapter.
